Gregory S Windham for Williamson County Democratic Chair

Good intentions are useless without the power to affect them.  It is with this in mind that I decided to embark on a journey within our esteemed party.

It is imperative that we, the party of the people, the farmers, the laborers, the common man -- acknowledge that the platforms of our most liberal wing have not won the support of the American majority. We know this to be certain when our Democratic champions retire from service, resign their posts, or leave us entirely for the other team.  This circumstance has taken place five times since 2008 and will continue if we fail to take a more moderate stance in policy and a decidely centrist course in candidate selection.

I see the job of the County Chairman as the political Captain of the party and it is my humble persuasion that my selection as chair would ensure that our party's direction would be plotted toward a middle ground that would invite greater participation, support, and legitimacy here in Williamson County.  This party is a group of volunteers dedicated to the election of individuals compelled to serve their neighbor and protect our freedoms.

Bravery is found in any circumstance, class or condition. Nationwide I am convinced that there is a shift to the right amongst independents.  To prevent the momentum shift here in the county, we are obligated to be aware of the dangers of left-wing extremism within our own party.  We have seen the right wing influence on the Republican Party disenfranchise many conservative, states-rights, self-reliant Texans.  I have found that walking the middle of the road is dangerous.  A person may get run over in both directions.  However, the dangers in the middle are far less and the advantages much greater.  It is only through solid, moderate leadership and example that we may recruit candidates capable of winning in this county.

I simply offer the choice of a local, UT educated, sixth generation, moderate Texan to lead our party and our county into the 21st Century. I appreciate your support at the ballot box in the Democratic party primary this March.  Together we can represent our ideals and values in the greatest state in the greatest nation in the world. God Bless You and God Bless Texas.
